Testimonial: Belle and Lucy

Updated: Oct 21, 2023

"This was our first time using Rover. We had a meet & greet with Desi a few days before our trip. She did a great job caring for our 2 pups while we were away. Desi provided timely, detailed updates with photos after each visit. She was extremely patient with Lucy, our anxious rescue pup who is scared of new people. Both of our pups were happy and healthy upon our return. I would definitely recommend booking with Desi!" - Claire B.

Claire's testimonial holds a special place in my heart as it beautifully illustrates my unwavering commitment to ensuring the comfort and well-being of every precious animal in my care.

Lucy, a rescue dog, had endured unimaginable trauma in her past, and trust did not come easily to her. During our initial meet and greet, she maintained a cautious distance, a testament to the pain she had endured before finding her loving forever home with Claire. It was clear her journey to healing would be a long and delicate one.

On my first day with Lucy, I understood the importance of patience and gentleness. Aware of her history, I gave her the space she needed, making no sudden movements. After providing her with snacks, food, and water, I remained in the same room, quietly offering my presence for 30-40 minutes. I wanted Lucy to recognize me as a friend, a source of comfort, rather than a threat.

As the days passed, the transformation in Lucy was truly heartwarming. Gradually, she began to trust me. She started eating, ventured outside, and even allowed me to approach within a couple of feet. Witnessing this progress was a testament to the power of patience, kindness, and the incredible resilience of animals.

Lucy's journey to trust and happiness reaffirms my dedication to creating a safe and nurturing environment for every pet I have the privilege of caring for.

Belle, on the other hand, was a social butterfly who loved snacks. She was getting older and had issues with her hips, was losing her hearing, and going blind. That didn't stop her from telling me it was time for breakfast, dinner and stealing Lucy's snacks.

Do you also have an anxious or nervous pet? When you book with me, your animal can remain happy and happy in a place they feel safe in.
